Position Description

• Review account-level electronic data points provided by clients and request legal documents and pleadings for attorney review based on the information contained in the data.
• Use internal coding to accurately notate the status of the account and the next action required.
• Locate, print, and attach physical documents provided by clients to pleadings ensuring accuracy of the documents attached.
• Work closely with litigation attorneys to meet dynamic client and internal deadlines. Communicate effectively about upcoming deadlines to management and attorney staff.
• Correct errors administrative errors identified by attorneys and other teams. Prepare rejected documents for reprocessing.
• May file incoming correspondence from courts to include accurately documenting files with the contents of the correspondence and queuing the file for the next action.
• Assist with archiving and filing client provided documents and internally generated documents. Strong attention to detail regarding physical document handling and archiving.
• Make independent decisions based on account level data escalating concerns and risk to attorneys for review and decisioning.
• Work from daily reports provided by management to ensure files are being moved to the next action based on client and internal deadlines.
• As directed by attorneys and management, prepare basic elements of court motions and pleadings for one or all the firm’s jurisdictions.

• Human relations skills and strong oral and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software, Word and Excel are preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritizing work and demonstrating good organization skills.
• Team oriented with the desire to cross train within the team.
• Experience with Collections Legal Software (CLS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, or D.C. court systems is helpful but not required.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to identify and escalate areas of concern or risk is crucial.
• Able to follow strict client-required operating standards regarding document preparation and account movement.
• Ability to make independent decisions and problem solve.

Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 to $14.00 per HOUR
